The Pre-Calving Pellets are scientifically formulated to provide a strong negative dietary cation-anion difference (DCAD) feed for cows and heifers leading up to calving.
Strategic and proactive feeding of dry cows with a transition feed ensures that the metabolic challenge of lactation in dairy cattle does not lead to health conditions that may result in production losses.
The benefits of successful transition cow management include lowered incidences of hypocalcaemia (milk fever), hypomagnesemia, ketosis, metritis and poor fertility and reproduction.
Quayle Milling’s Pre-Calving Pellets include Rumensin® and Acid Buf® along with quality energy and protein to condition the rumen in preparation for the high concentrate diet that usually accompanies early lactation.
INGREDIENTS SELECTED FROM:
Cereal Grains and Products (Barley, Wheat, Bran & Pollard), Canola Meal, Lupins, Limestone, Rumen Buffer (Acid Buf®), Salt, Rumensin® (Monensin sodium), Ionic Salts, Mineral and Vitamin Premix (containing copper).
FEED RATE/RECOMMENDED FEEDING:
Feed Pre-Calving Pellets to dairy cattle at 3kg/head/day for 21 days leading up to calving. DO NOT feed after calving.
This feed should be fed alongside pasture / hay that is low in potassium as forage high in potassium will decrease the effectiveness of the Pre-Calving Pellets.
Livestock should always have access to fresh, clean drinking water.

This product contains monensin (40mg/kg). DO NOT feed to dogs, horses or other equids. It may be fatal to these species.
This product does not contain restricted animal material.

STORAGE:
Store in a cool, dry, shaded environment, off the ground to prevent mould and infestations. Remove plastic wrap from bagged product when delivered for better storage life.
EXPIRY:
Use within 6 months of date of manufacture.
